Description: The main attraction of the Mr. Jealousy soundtrack is three new songs by Luna. The first is a solid, tender cover of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.” It could be the radio breakthrough that has eluded the band to this point. Even better is the wide-ranging “Mr. Jealousy Luna Suite,” which boasts a nice waltz tempo with string accompaniment before moving into a lounge section and then into bop. “Hello Little One” is a soft-pop tune that features a guitar solo that sounds like On Fire-era Galaxie 500. It’s a must for Luna fans. The rest of the soundtrack has a pleasant French flavor including “Ce Que L’On Tait” from the Smiths-ish Parisian band Autour de Lucie (who were on last year’s Lilith Fair tour) and the campy “Via Con Me” from Paolo Caonte. “Je Ne Suis La Pour Personne” by Francoise Hardy is a welcome classic, as are Irma Thomas’s “It’s Raining” and Harry Chapin’s “Cat’s in the Cradle.” –Jim Young
